Why we exist

WordPress built the small-business web. But your website no longer needs a plugin for every feature, a server running all night, or a developer on call for every change. It needs a GitHub repo, an AI assistant and someone to show you how to use them.

The headache

WordPress made websites easy. Then it made them expensive.

For most small and mid-sized businesses, the site itself is simple. What's not simple is everything WordPress needs around it.

Plugin bills that keep stacking

Forms, SEO, backups, security, caching, page builder. Each one is a yearly licence for something that should just be part of your site.

Hosting you pay to keep alive

PHP and a database running around the clock to serve pages that rarely change. Managed WordPress plans charge a premium for it.

Updates you're afraid to click

Core, theme and plugin updates every week. Skip them and you're exposed. Run them and something might break.

A constant security target

WordPress runs a huge share of the web, which makes it the first thing bots probe. Every plugin is another door to watch.

Slow, heavy pages

Page builders and plugin scripts add weight that visitors and search engines notice, especially on phones.

Waiting on "the website person"

Changing a price or adding a page turns into a ticket, an invoice and a few days of waiting.

The treatment

Four steps from WordPress to agentic

Every site is different, so we start by looking at yours. Nothing gets moved until we agree on the right plan.

  1. 01

    Diagnose

We audit your site: pages, posts, plugins, forms, traffic, SEO and what you're paying each month. You get a plain-language report of what's needed and what isn't.

    • Plugin audit
    • Cost review
    • SEO snapshot
  2. 02

    Prescribe

We set up your site in a GitHub repository you own, choose the hosting that fits it (Cloudflare Workers, a Hostinger VPS, or both), and connect the two so every change goes live automatically.

    • Your GitHub repo
    • Hosting that fits
    • Auto-publish
  3. 03

    Migrate

We move your content, images, forms and URLs, set up redirects so you keep your search rankings, and launch with no downtime.

    • Content & media
    • 301 redirects
    • Zero downtime
  4. 04

    Equip & coach

We write custom skills for your AI assistant: instructions covering your brand, tone of voice, design rules and SEO best practices, so every change it makes stays on-brand and search-friendly. Then we train your team to use them.

    • Brand skills
    • SEO skills
    • Team training

What "agentic" means

You stop logging in. You start asking.

Your whole website lives as files in a GitHub repository you own. Instead of hunting through wp-admin menus or buying another plugin, you tell an AI assistant what to change. It edits the files, shows you a preview, and your site updates when you approve.

  • Custom skills keep every change on-brand and SEO-friendly
  • New pages, sections and blog posts in minutes
  • Features built into your site instead of rented as plugins
  • Every change saved in GitHub, so nothing is ever lost
  • No updates to babysit, because there's no plugin stack to update

Add a holiday hours banner to the homepage: closed Dec 24–26, back on the 27th.

Done. I added a dismissible banner above the header on the homepage and set it to hide automatically on Dec 27.

Looks good. Also turn last week's newsletter into a blog post.

Published “5 things to know before your first visit” with a summary, header image and SEO description. It's live at /blog/first-visit.

Live · deployed in 9s

  1. 1 · You ask

Describe the change in plain English to any AI assistant.

  2. 2 · AI updates your GitHub repo

It follows your brand and SEO skills, and every past version is kept.

  3. 3 · Your host publishes it

Cloudflare or Hostinger puts the new version live in seconds.

Who we are

Run by WordPress experts.

WP Aspirin is run by Tony Lewis, who has spent more than a decade working in WordPress, including inside two of the biggest companies in the ecosystem: Awesome Motive and Thrive Themes.

We know what WordPress does well, and exactly where it costs small businesses too much. That's how we know when you don't need it anymore.

Questions

Before you take the aspirin

Will I lose my Google rankings?

No. We keep your URLs where we can and set up redirects where we can't, carry over titles and meta descriptions, and submit a fresh sitemap at launch. Most sites get faster, which search engines reward.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. That's the point of an agentic site. You describe changes in plain language and the AI does the technical work. Our coaching sessions get you comfortable with the workflow.

Is every WordPress site a good fit?

Most are. Brochure sites, blogs and service businesses move easily. Online stores and membership sites take more planning and usually run on a VPS. If your site isn't a good fit, we'll tell you in the free checkup, before you spend anything.

What is GitHub, and why does my site live there?

GitHub is where your website's files are stored, a bit like a shared drive built for websites. It keeps every version of every change, so nothing is ever lost, and your host publishes the latest version automatically. You don't need to learn it; the AI works with it for you.

Which AI tool do I need?

Whichever one you like. Because your site is standard files in a GitHub repository, any capable AI assistant can update it. If your team already uses one, we'll show you how to point it at your site.

What stops the AI from breaking my design or SEO?

Skills. Before handover we write a set of skills for your site: instructions your AI assistant follows every time it makes a change. They cover your brand colours, fonts and layouts, your tone of voice, SEO rules like titles, descriptions and redirects, and your site's technical best practices. They live in your GitHub repo alongside the site, and you preview every change before it goes live.

Who owns the site afterwards?

You do. The GitHub repository and the hosting account are both in your name. No lock-in, no proprietary platform.

How much does it cost?

Every migration is quoted after the checkup, because a five-page brochure site and a 400-post blog are very different jobs. You'll get a fixed price and an estimate of what you'll save each month.
